When Calista Kay Flockhart graduated Shawnee Highschool, she would go on to attend the Mason Gross School of Arts at Rutgers University. While attending there, she would also attend a specialized and competitive class. In her sophore year, Calista met Jane Krakowski who would later colaborate with her on the script for Ally McBeal.
After graduating, Flockhart moved to New York City where she would work 2 jobs and simutaneously seek out auditions. She would start making in-roads when she landed a minor role in an episode of the television show Guiding Light.
Following a few other television roles and her first substantial speaking role in the movie Quiz Show, Calista Flockhart would debut on Broadway. Her debut was in the role of Laura in The Glass Menagerie.
Calista's experience in acting on broadway would have her get a request to audition for the Fox Television series, Ally McBeal. Calista would win the part and would rise to fame earning herself a Golden Globe award in the process.
