TLDR

As the “Summer House” reunion prepares to unpack their secret romance and a broken friendship, Amanda Batula and West Wilson are in Rome instead of on the couch watching the fallout.

Amanda Batula and West Wilson chose an airport check-in line over a watch party. Hours before part one of the “Summer House” Season 10 reunion, the new couple was spotted leaving the country, headed for Rome, Italy.

According to Page Six, a fan photo obtained by gossip account DeuxMoi captured the pair at the airport with luggage in tow. Another onlooker told the outlet that Batula, 34, and Wilson, 31, were later seen tucked into glasses of wine at Civico 4, a buzzy Roman bar and bistro.

The timing could not be more loaded. On screen, viewers are about to see the rest of the Hamptons house take aim at the couple for keeping their relationship quiet, and for the emotional crossfire that followed. Off screen, Batula and Wilson have quietly removed themselves from the blast zone.

At the center of the reunion is not just a love story, but a friendship fracture. In leaked audio from the taping, Ciara Miller confronts Batula over dating her ex, Wilson, whom Miller was linked to in 2023. Miller, 30, reminds Batula how closely their lives have been intertwined, saying in the clip, “Over the past six years, I have been your champion.” The rest of the audio makes clear that Miller now feels that loyalty was not returned.

Miller has also accused Wilson of using his new relationship to hurt her, alleging he is with Batula to “spite” and “embarrass” her. It turns a standard reality TV love triangle into a question of motive, intent, and who gets cast as the villain when friend lines blur inside a franchise.

Batula and Wilson tried to get ahead of that narrative in March, when they finally acknowledged months of speculation. In a joint Instagram statement, they wrote, “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”

They added that their romance grew out of years of friendship, saying, “We have shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what has developed recently was the last thing either of us expected.” It read less like a soft launch and more like an appeal for understanding from a fan base that has watched their friendships and fallouts play out for a decade.

Now comes the test. As Bravo airs the reunion, with host Andy Cohen guiding castmates through tears, raised voices, and pointed questions, the couple at the center of it all is sharing pasta and wine under Roman streetlights. For some, the trip will look like a strategic escape. For others, it may simply be two people choosing distance while everyone else debates their choices on television.

Part one of the “Summer House” Season 10 reunion is set to air on Bravo, promising a closer look at how Batula, Wilson, Miller, and the rest of the cast rewrite their relationships in real time. Whether Rome becomes a brief romantic detour or the calm before a longer storm around the couple’s image remains to be seen.

Do you see Batula and Wilson’s escape from Rome as smart self-protection, or as a way to avoid accountability while friends and castmates face the reunion fallout at home?
