TLDR

Danica Patrick’s front-row reunion with Donald Trump at a Turning Point USA event in Arizona put her political evolution and post-TV future on full display.

Danica Patrick did not sneak into the ballroom in Arizona. She was placed in one of the best seats in the house, close to the stage as Donald Trump spoke at a Turning Point USA gathering, then turned the evening into a curated Instagram moment.

For many fans who remember her as the barrier-breaking woman in IndyCar and NASCAR, the Arizona photos crystallized a newer era. Patrick, 44, has shifted from the roar of the track and glossy ad campaigns to a life that now blends wellness summits, media work, and an unapologetically public alliance with Trump.

According to Daily Mail US, Patrick has described herself as a devoted Trump supporter in recent years and has said she had never voted in an election before he entered politics. At the Turning Point event, she shared photos smiling alongside the former president and captioned one post, “My friend, POTUS.”

She told followers the first picture captured her telling Trump how much she admires his longtime ally, UFC chief Dana White, and how that connection led to her first UFC fight attendance after meeting White at a MAHA, or Make America Healthy Again, summit. Patrick added, “What a wild, weird, and amazing life I get to live. Another amazing event put on by Turning Point USA.”

On her Instagram story, she struck a lighter tone, calling Trump “badass and funny” as she offered supporters another glimpse of the dynamic that now defines her political image.

Patrick also made it clear she was not the only athlete in the room. She posed with former NHL star Jeremy Roenick and ex-NFL kicker Jay Feely, who is running for Congress. In one caption, she wrote, “Building the red wall starts in Arizona. Big athlete turnout in Phoenix.”

“So much respect for high achievers that pivot into a whole new profession! Jay was an NFL kicker, then a TV broadcaster, and now… politics. Most importantly, a good human with good values and so much passion for making this country great.”

The praise for Feely sounded a lot like a mirror. Patrick herself has pivoted repeatedly, from race winner to commercial star to broadcaster and podcaster. She joined Sky Sports’ Formula 1 coverage during the United States Grand Prix in October 2021 and became a regular presence for five seasons before departing shortly before the 2026 F1 campaign began.

The Arizona appearance arrives just after that quiet exit from Sky. It places Patrick not at a racetrack desk but at a political microphone, sharing the stage with Roenick to help introduce Feely and aligning herself even more tightly with Trump-world causes.

In an era when sponsors, networks, and fans scrutinize every political gesture, Patrick’s choices carry clear reputational stakes. Her embrace of Trump energizes a specific slice of her fan base, while it may complicate future mainstream TV roles or brand partnerships that prefer a softer political footprint.

What is undeniable is the deliberateness. From her seat placement to the polished Instagram captions, Patrick is signaling where she feels most at home in this chapter. The woman who once chased checkered flags is now stepping into rooms where the prizes are influence, alignment, and the next reinvention of her public image.

How do you see athletes who become political figures reshaping their legacies? Does a moment like Patrick’s Arizona reunion change how you remember her racing era, or simply mark a new lane in a long, unpredictable career?
