According to reporting cited from Spanish outlet El Periodico, an early autopsy and DNA testing did not yield clear answers. It would take months, and the use of dental records along with distinctive tattoos on her back, before investigators felt able to formally state that the remains were Lovas.
Authorities have not established how she died. Police say an autopsy ruled out a violent death, strangulation, and sexual assault. A police spokesperson told El Periodico that investigators believe Lovas may have died somewhere else, possibly in an accident or suicide, and that floodwaters could have carried her body down to El Berriel.
The landscape where she was finally found only deepened the mystery. Police chief Pablo Fernandez Sala described the identification effort as “hard and intense” in comments to local outlet La Provincia. He explained that colleagues tried to reach a natural pool in the area to retrace her final movements, but that the terrain was too treacherous. According to his account, “You would have needed to be a professional climber, not just any hiker, to reach the spot.”
To viewers back home in Hungary, Lovas was first known as a contestant on the fourth season of “A Nagy O” in 2021. She joined a cast of women competing for the heart of Olympic canoeist David Toth, part of a polished reality love story that introduced her to a national audience.
Off camera, her life was more complicated. Hungarian outlet Blikk reported that Lovas moved to Gran Canaria after a battle with cancer, which had reportedly taken a toll on her mental health. The sunny island served as the backdrop to an influencer’s life, even as she appeared to struggle in private.
According to Blikk, she was first reported missing by her family in November 2024, when loved ones said they had no contact with her for two weeks. Around that time, she deleted her social media presence. She was later located safe at a hotel on the island, but within days, relatives again told police she had disappeared. She would not be found again until her body was recovered months later.
For her family, that meant nearly a year suspended between hope and dread while Spanish authorities worked to identify the woman in the ravine. For investigators, inconclusive early forensic tests stretched the process into what Fernandez Sala called an intense, painstaking case.
Now that the mystery of the woman’s name is resolved, attention turns to her legacy and the unanswered questions about her final hours. On Reddit, one grieving viewer wrote, “Terrible. Rest in peace.
