Carrie and Big were supposed to be forever. For two decades, fans watched Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth turn heartbreak, cabs, and cosmopolitans into one of TV’s great love stories, on and off the screen.

So when Noth now says he and Parker are no longer friends, and calls her reaction to the sexual assault allegations against him “hurtful” and life-changing, it hits like a betrayal for anyone who ever rooted for that fairytale ending.

The actor opened up about the rupture in their relationship on the podcast “Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson”. He claims Parker never called to hear his side of the story before publicly supporting his accusers.

‘Sex and the City’ Fantasy Meets Real-Life Fallout

Noth spent six seasons playing Mr. Big opposite Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw on “Sex and the City”, followed by two blockbuster movies. They reunited again when he returned for the sequel series “And Just Like That” in 2021, before his character was shockingly killed off in the premiere episode.

To fans, their chemistry looked effortless. Off camera, they appeared like long-time colleagues who had weathered fame, reboots, and the intense scrutiny that came with reinventing a beloved franchise.

That is why Noth’s recent admission lands so hard. He told the podcast it is now “pretty obvious” he and Parker are no longer friends.

The Statement That Split the ‘SATC’ Family

Noth, 71, was accused by three women of sexual assault in 2021, accusations he has strongly denied. As those stories surfaced, Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis released a joint statement that aligned the core “Sex and the City” cast with the women who came forward.

“We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it,” they said at the time.

Noth now says that public distance from his former co-stars cut deeply.

He called the statement “disappointing” and said in the interview that it made his estrangement from Parker “pretty obvious”. Speaking in a preview of the podcast episode obtained by People, he added, “The statement that they put out, which was nothing more than brand management, really, I do not know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising.”

Noth on Loyalty, Hurt, and ‘Real Friends’

For Noth, the issue was not just what Parker and her co-stars said. It was what he says they did not do first.

“Because you need to call me and hear my side of this. You have known me for many years, and we have worked together for many years,” he said on the podcast. “Before you make that statement, you know me, you have known me all these years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this. And that did not happen, and that was too bad.”

He insisted he would have handled the situation differently if their roles had been reversed. “I just know if it had been on the other hand, I would not have done that,” he said, adding that he would have “absolutely” called Parker first.

Noth said the fallout showed him who truly stands by him. “That was hurtful, and it really affected everything,” he admitted, explaining that the experience drew a sharp line between Hollywood colleagues and what he considers “real friends”.

Instagram Shade and a Walk-Back

The tension did not stay behind closed doors. Earlier this month, Noth appeared to take a public jab at Parker on social media, and “Sex and the City” fans noticed immediately.

He posted a sweaty gym selfie with the caption, “F–k new years – LETS GO!!!!”. When one follower commented, “You mean f–k SJP & her award right? lol”, seemingly referring to a recent honor for Parker, Noth replied, “Right.”

The exchange set off a mini firestorm among nostalgic Carrie and Big devotees. Many read it as confirmation that whatever remained of their off-screen friendship had officially burned out.

Noth then attempted to cool the outrage in a follow-up Instagram comment. “The off-the-cuff, slightly sarcastic response to a comment on the internet seems to have caused a tempest in a teapot. It is not news,” he wrote, trying to frame the whole moment as a joke that had gone too far.

What He Denies and What He Admits

Throughout, Noth has continued to deny the sexual assault allegations made against him. He has repeated that stance in multiple interviews, including a conversation with USA Today in 2023.

In that interview, he did admit to infidelity. He has been married to actor Tara Wilson since 2012, and the couple shares two sons, Orion and Keats.

Noth said the sexual encounters outside his marriage were consensual, even as he acknowledged the hurt inside his own home. “I strayed on my wife, and it is devastating to her and not a very pretty picture,” he told USA Today. “What it is not is a crime.”

Parker, 60, has not publicly addressed Noth’s latest comments about their relationship, and she did not respond to Page Six when asked for comment about his remarks.

For fans, that silence may speak as loudly as any Instagram caption. The couple who once embodied impossible New York romance on “Sex and the City” now stand on opposite sides of a scandal, reminding us that even the most cinematic bond can break once the cameras stop rolling.
