TLDR

Paris Jackson is pushing ahead with her court fight against Michael Jackson’s estate executors after brother Blanket’s quiet bid to settle the dispute fell apart, exposing a deep rift over money, power, and legacy.

Michael Jackson’s children are adults now, but the real power over their father’s empire still sits with the executors. According to new court filings reported by TMZ, Paris Jackson is in an open clash with those executors, and her younger brother Blanket, who now goes by Bigi, just failed in an attempt to pull everyone back from the brink.

The conflict centers on how the estate pays outside law firms and how quickly those payments are disclosed. Paris has been challenging what she believes are excessive legal bills and has asked the court for a stricter, more transparent process for approving and reporting those fees.

The executors, veteran entertainment lawyers John Branca and John McClain, have fired back in court. They argue that the fees are standard in an industry that has seen Michael’s estate earn billions of dollars through catalog deals, licensing, and posthumous projects. In their telling, they are the ones who rescued a debt-laden legacy and turned it into a financial fortress for Jackson’s heirs.

Into that tension stepped Blanket, the most private of the three siblings. TMZ reports that his legal team helped spearhead talks to calm the waters. In the new documents, the executors say Blanket’s lawyer told them he was speaking for all three children, including Paris and their older brother Prince Jackson, and that a deal was reached in late March on how accounting reports would be filed with the court.

Under that reported agreement, the estate says it accepted tighter rules. That included a promise not to pay bonuses to outside law firms unless a judge approved them, along with other changes to how estate accounting would be handled.

Then, according to the executors, Paris walked away. They claim she backed out at the last minute and submitted her own proposal, one they describe as radically different from the terms discussed just a week earlier. In their new filing, they state they remain willing to adopt the earlier framework but oppose Paris’s alternative plan.

Paris’s side is painting a very different picture. A source close to her told TMZ, “From the moment she filed an objection, Paris Jackson has been the victim of a disgusting, outrageous smear campaign by the Executors and their attorneys. These lawyers are using Jackson family resources to mock, belittle, and attack her for demanding transparency and accountability from the people who control every aspect of her family’s finances.”

The same source added that there was never a true global peace on the table. According to that account, “there was never any deal on the table from any party that would have settled all issues between Paris and the Executors,” and any proposal on attorney compensation was diluted with “exceptions and loopholes” that would have kept power with the executors and their lawyers.

For fans who watched Michael’s children grieve in public and then carefully build their own lives, this fight is not just about bills and spreadsheets. It is about who safeguards his name, who controls the river of money his music still generates, and how united his children really are behind closed doors. The question now is whether Paris, Prince, and Blanket can find their own alignment, or whether the story of Michael Jackson’s legacy will be written by lawyers instead of his family.
